Medico SMS — operated by Medico (medicoapp.ai), a personal health management platform.
Through the Medico SMS program, users receive one-time passcodes (OTPs) used to verify access to their Medico account. Messages are sent only to users who provide their mobile number through the Medico mobile application and complete the consent flow described below. SMS is used solely for authentication.
Medico does not send marketing, promotional, account-action, or third-party SMS through this program. Other in-app notifications (e.g. caregiver or Health Buddy invites) are delivered via in-app push notifications, never SMS.
Message frequency is tied to the user’s sign-in activity. Typical users receive 1 to 5 OTP messages per week. Users who do not sign in receive no messages.
Consent to receive SMS is collected inside the Medico mobile application at the point of sign-in or account creation. The user must:
Below is an actual screenshot of the Medico Login screen as the user sees it at the moment of consent. The SMS consent disclosure is displayed immediately above the red Login button:
“By tapping Login you agree to receive one-time passcode texts from Medico. Message frequency varies with sign-in activity. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”
Directly below this disclosure, the app renders tappable Privacy Policy and Terms of Service links, so both policies are available to the user at the exact point of consent.
This text is rendered directly above the red Login button on the Login screen, and an equivalent disclosure (substituting “Create Account”) is rendered above the red Create Account button on the Sign Up screen. Both screens require the user to enter their phone number before the button is enabled.
Tapping Login (or Sign Up) constitutes the user’s express written consent to receive SMS one-time passcodes from Medico at the number provided, including via automated technology. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
Reply STOP to any message from Medico to immediately stop further SMS to that number. The user will receive a single confirmation message (e.g. “You have been unsubscribed from Medico SMS. No further messages will be sent. Reply START to resubscribe.”) and then no further texts.
You may also opt out by deleting your account inside the app or by emailing support@medicoapp.ai.
Reply HELP to any message from Medico to receive a response with support contact information. Example: “Medico SMS support: visit medicoapp.ai/help or email support@medicoapp.ai. Reply STOP to opt out.”
Message and data rates may apply. Charges are determined by your mobile carrier. Medico is not responsible for delays or undelivered messages caused by carrier conditions.
The Medico SMS program is supported on major U.S. mobile carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost Mobile, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, Cricket, Virgin Mobile, and other carriers reachable through Twilio’s A2P 10DLC network. Carrier participation may change.
Phone numbers and SMS interaction data are handled per the Medico Privacy Policy. We do not share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes. Information sharing with third parties is limited to subprocessors required to deliver the SMS (currently Twilio, Inc.) and is governed by data processing terms with each subprocessor.
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Medico provides the Service “AS IS” without warranty of delivery; see the full Terms of Service for details.
We may update this SMS Messaging Terms page from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the in-app consent flow or by updated language inside the Medico app. Continued use of the SMS program after changes constitutes acceptance.
